
Seven Run Fourth Inning Leads Delmarva to Win, 11-3

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell to the Delmarva Shorebirds 11-3 Tuesday night at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,017.
Rome grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the second on Jefrey Ramos' (12) solo home run and Marcos Almonte's RBI single. In the fourth Delmarva made it a 7-2 game when seven Shorebirds crossed the plate. Jean Carlos Encarnacion and Ryan Ripkin each had RBI singles, Cadyn Grenier doubled home a run, two throwing errors allowed three runs to score, and Mason McCoy added a sacrifice fly RBI. Only three of the seven runs were earned. Delmarva added two runs in the seventh on a Seamus Curran (13) two-run home run as well as a run in the eighth. Rome scored in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a throwing error but the Shorebirds added another run in the ninth for the 11-3 final.
Jhon Pefullo (4-6) earns the win and Rome starter Freddy Tarnok (4-3) gets the loss. Tarnok went 3.2 innings allowing three earned runs on four hits.
