Winston-Salem, NC – Seven former Warthogs are listed in Baseball America's annual Minor League Top 10 prospects list. The list is a breakdown of the top 20 players at every minor league level. Rankings are based on analysis from Baseball America editors and writers, professional scouts and minor league managers. Winston-Salem's parent club, the Chicago White Sox, had 14 players ranked which is tied for the fifth-most in baseball.

Outfielder, Brian Anderson, is listed among the top prospects in both the Southern League (11) and Carolina League (3). Anderson, Chicago's first round-draft choice in 2003, hit a combined .298 with 31 doubles, seven triples, 12 home runs and 73 RBIs in 117 games between Winston-Salem and AA Birmingham. Anderson was a mid-season CL All-Star.

Starting pitcher, Brandon McCarthy, was named to the Baseball America Minor League All-Star team. McCarthy was ranked as the sixth best prospect in the CL and the eighth best prospect in the South Atlantic League. McCarthy, who led all minor league pitchers with 202 strikeouts, was a combined 17-6 with a 3.14 ERA between class A Kannapolis, Winston-Salem and AA Birmingham.

Third baseman, Josh Fields, was picked number one by the White Sox in 2004 out of Oklahoma State and is ranked as the 12th best prospect in the CL. Fields hit .285 with seven home runs and 39 RBIs.

Outfielder, Ryan Sweeney, is rated as the seventh best prospect in the CL. Sweeney hit .283 with seven home runs and 66 RBIs. Sweeney earned a spot on the CL post-season All-Star team.

Starting pitcher, Sean Tracey, is rated as the 17th best prospect in the CL. Tracey finished second in CL with a 2.73 ERA and third with 130 strikeouts. Tracey saved his best pitching for the end of the season, finishing with a 0.70 ERA in his last eight starts.

Jeremy Reed (OF) and Mike Morse (IF) are former Warthogs who made the prospects list, but are no longer part of the White Sox organization.
