Senators win fifth straight with 8-3 win over Bowie

In front of 5,826 happy fans at Metro Bank Park, the Senators beat the Bowie Baysox 8-3 for their fifth win in a row. The five straight wins is a season-high and they also move a season-high five games over .500.

Derek Norris hit his fourth home run this week giving the Senators a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Norris had two hits and scored three runs in the game. Chris Rahl had three doubles with two RBIs and Steve Lombardozzi, Tyler Moore, Stephen King, and Norris all had two hits. King's was a big one, a two-out two-run single giving the Senators a 7-0 lead in the fifth inning.

Shairon Martis started the game for the Senators and went six shutout innings for the win. He allowed five hits and pitched out of two jams. He moves to 2-2 on the season with the Senators. Zech Zinicola made his first appearance for Harrisburg since joining the team yesterday, allowing a run in two innings. Cory VanAllen finished things up allowing the final two runs but inducing Robbie Widlansky to ground into a game ending double-play.

The five-game series with Bowie continues on Sunday with two seven-inning games beginning at 5:00 p.m. In game one, RH Eric Davis is on the hill for the Senators and in game two, LH Oliver Perez.
