Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators couldn't overcome Akron's one big inning in falling to the Aeros 6-4 on Friday night at Canal Park in Akron. The Aeros scored all six runs in the second, third, and fourth innings then held off the Sens for their 20th win of the season against just five losses.

Akron scored a run in the second, then four in the third on five hits to take a 5-0 lead. Leonard Davis hit a two-run home run in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-2, but Akron came back with a two-out run in the last of the fourth making the score 6-2. Marvin Lowrance hit a two-run home run in the ninth to account for the final tally. The Senators had a huge opportunity in the seventh inning to get themselves back in the game, loading the bases with one out, trailing 6-2, but went scoreless.

Luke Montz and Lowrance both had two hits for the Sens.

Yunior Novoa and Zech Zinicola combined to throw 4.1 innings of scoreless relief. Adrian Alaniz started for the Sens and went just 3.2 innings allowing ten hits and all six runs.

With the loss, the Senators are now 6-19 on the season. Game two of the three game series is Saturday night at 7:05pm with LH Justin Jones on the mound for Harrisburg.
