Senators Drop a Tough One, 5-4 at Erie

Two different times Wednesday night the Senators led by two runs, only to have Erie come back and then eventually win on a two-out walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Senators 5-4. Harrisburg plated two runs in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead, but Erie tied the game with two of their own in the fourth. The Senators scored twice in the sixth, but Erie scored single runs in the sixth and eighth setting up their ninth inning walk-off.

Ronald Herrera started for the Sens and went six innings allowing just two earned runs, three overall, for his fifth quality start this season. Reid Schaller went 1.1 innings walking two and allowing a hit but no runs. Brian Gonzalez went two-thirds of an inning, walking a batter and allowing the game tying run to score on a double. Richard Guasch pitched the ninth and gave up the two-out game winning home run.

Justin Connell, Dondrei Hubbard, and Jackson Cluff all had two hits, all doubled, with Hubbard driving in two runs and Cluff one. Harrisburg had four doubles in the game and outhit Erie 10-6. Alfredo Rodriguez drove in a run for the second straight game.

The Senators went 6-for-11 with runners in scoring position but it led to just four runs. Harrisburg was errorless for the 25th time this season. The Sens stole four bases which equals a season high.
