Senators defeat Bulldogs

Montreal, Quebec - The Binghamton Senators defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Nikita Filatov scored two goals including the game-winner and added an assist while Mark Parrish recorded three assists.

The Senators opened the scoring on a power play goal by Nikita Filatov at 0:44 of the first period. Patrick Wiercioch was positioned at the blue line and dished a pass over to Filatov who was at the top of the left circle. Filatov then wired a wrist shot over the shoulder of Hamilton starting goaltender Nathan Lawson and in the top of the net.

The Bulldogs tied the score at 8:37 of the opening frame on a goal by Alexander Avtsin. Louis Leblanc wrapped around the net to the left side and put the puck on Binghamton Senators starting goaltender Mike McKenna who stopped the shot. The rebound came out to Avtsin at the top of the crease who shoveled the puck past McKenna.

Binghamton took the lead at 19:36 of the first period on a power play tally by Pat Cannone. Mark Parrish took a shot from the slot which was stopped by Lawson. Cannone was at the top of the crease and buried the rebound past Lawson.

The ‘Dogs tied the score on a power play marker by Danny Masse at 15:07 of the second stanza. Brian Willsie was positioned on the boards at the left side and centered the puck to Masse who was in the slot. Masse then one-timed a slap shot over the shoulder of McKenna top shelf.

The Senators took the lead at 1:40 of the third stanza on a goal by Filatov. Riley Armstrong took a shot from the left circle which was stopped by Lawson. The rebound came out to Parrish at the left side of the crease who threw a behind-the-back pass over to the right circle where Filatov wired the shot into the empty net. Binghamton added to their lead at 11:56 of the final frame on a goal by Armstrong. Filatov was circling around the net and wound up in the right corner where he feathered a pass to the slot where Armstrong one-timed the puck over the shoulder of Lawson.
