Murphy, Sanguinetti, Sutter Donate Tickets to Charity

CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte Checkers captain Brett Sutter, goaltender Mike Murphy and defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti have teamed together to purchase and donate season tickets to local charities for the remainder of the 2011-12 season.

Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital (Murphy), Special Olympics North Carolina (Sutter) and Camp Care (Sanguinetti) are the beneficiaries and will each receive four season tickets for patients, athletes, families and volunteers.

The recipients of the tickets will be periodically recognized in-game on the video board and any unreserved tickets will be auctioned with the proceeds going back to the respective charity.

The Checkers host the Rockford IceHogs Friday at 7 p.m. (game presented by the Marines) and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena. Tickets are available at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office and www.ticketmaster.com. Sunday is Military Appreciation Day and fans who bring a travel-sized personal item to donate will receive a free ticket to the Sunday, Dec. 4 game, courtesy of the USO of North Carolina.
