Seimone Augustus Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - Minnesota Lynx forward Seimone Augustus underwent surgery today to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee. The procedure, performed by Dr. Joel Boyd at TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Bloomington, Minn went as expected. Augustus suffered the injury during Minnesota's June 17 game at Phoenix and will be sidelined indefinitely as she begins rehabilitation.

Augustus had appeared in six Lynx games this season, averaging a team-high 21.0 ppg and 4.2 rpg. In 105 career games with Minnesota, Augustus holds averages of 21.2 ppg and 3.9 rpg.
