Seeler Named to All-Rookie Team

Urbandale (IA) The United States Hockey League announced its 2011-2012 All-Rookie team on Tuesday and the list includes Des Moines Buccaneers' defenseman Nick Seeler. Playing his first season of Junior A hockey Seeler finished the season with 28 points (4 goals, 24 assists) while providing a consistent presence along the blue line.

Seeler began the season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks before being traded to the Buccaneers in late January. He had 13pts (2g, 11a) in his 26 games with Des Moines.

A native of Eden Prairie, MN, Seeler was a fifth round draft pick of the Minnesota Wild in last June's NHL Entry Draft and is committed to Division I Nebraska-Omaha where he is expected to play at this Fall.

The Buccaneers' will hold their annual tryout camp June 14-17 led by new head coach Jon Rogger. Invitees to the camp will include returning players, recent draft picks and free agents and will narrow down the team's roster heading into the Fall.

The Des Moines Buccaneers are preparing for their 33rd consecutive season in the United States Hockey League beginning in the Fall of 2012. Since 1980, the Buccaneers have produced hundreds of NCAA Division I players and dozens of professional alumni.
