Second Year Defenseman Returns to Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLLE, NC - The FireAntz and head coach Jeff Bes announced today the return of defenseman Nicholas Rivait for his second straight season with the organization.

"Nick is a big strong defenseman, who had an excellent rookie season," Bes said. "Having him back to help anchor our defense makes us a that much stronger heading into the season. We are looking for big things from Nick both on and off the ice."

The 25-year-old Kingsville, Ontario native enters his second pro season with the FireAntz. The 6'2'', 220-pound defenseman played in 51 regular season games for the FireAntz last season, registering 2 goals and 14 assists for 16 points.

"After such a great and exciting season last year, I am definitely excited to return to the Crown and finish what we started," said Rivait. "With the help of our great fans and the support of the community, I know we will have the team that can finally bring a championship back to Fayetteville."

Rivait joined the FireAntz last season after a four-year career at SUNY-Oswego. While there, Rivait played a total of 76 games.

The FireAntz are back in action for their 15th Anniversary on October 28 when they take on the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:30 p.m. at the Crown Coliseum.
