Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Kokomo, IN - The Traverse City Pit Spitters shut out the Kokomo Jackrabbits 3-0 on Tuesday for their second shutout in three games. They've allowed one run in their last 27 innings.

The scoring got started instantly. On just one hit, the Pit Spitters scored three runs to take the lead in the top of the first. A run scored on a wild pitch before Marshall Toole singled home another. Trey Truitt made it 3-0 on an RBI groundout.

The bats would go cold the rest of the way, but the pitching staff wouldn't need any more help. Avery Goldensoph went a season-high four innings to start the game. He struck out a season-high five batters, allowing just two hits and a walk.

Goldensoph was relieved by Jake Michel who one upped him with five scoreless out of the bullpen. Michel picked up the win, lowering his ERA as a reliever to 0.60 on the season. He worked two double plays and struck out four, including striking out the side in the seventh.
