Fond du Lac Dock Spiders News Release
FOND DU LAC, WI - Noah Magee (Ole Miss) struck out the final five outs of the game to earn the save in a 6-4 Fond du Lac Dock Spiders win over the Green Bay Rockers on Monday night at Herr-Baker Field.
The Dock Spiders struck out a season-high 16 batters, led by the five from Magee and four from Nate Leibold (UCLA) and Kenny Campbell (UConn). The win broke a two-game losing streak for the Dock Spiders, who improved to 27-25 with the win and 8-10 in the second half. The Rockers fell to 19-32 on the year and to 9-7 in the half.
The Dock Spiders jumped out to an early lead, scoring first in the second inning when Cole Messina (South Carolina) drove home Branden Comia (Illinois) on a sacrifice fly to center. They would score three more in the third inning when Andrew Sojka (CSUN) drove in a run with a single, Comia drew a bases-loaded walk and Parker Noland (Vanderbilt) brought home a run with a groundout. The Dock Spiders would tally another in the fifth off a sacrifice fly from Comia to make it 5-0.
The Rockers would start the comeback in the sixth after Campbell and Leibold combined to shut out Green Bay through the first five. A groundout, double, and a single would plate three straight runs to make 5-3. The Rockers would cut it to 5-4 in the seventh off an error. The Dock Spiders would get their final run of the night in the seventh off an error to make it 6-4.
In the eighth, Magee would enter with the tying run at the plate with one out and would strike out the next two batters to get out of the inning. In the ninth, he would work around two walks and a single to strand the bases loaded and earn his fourth career save, and his first since 2021 at Hinds Community College.
Nate Leibold (1-1) earned the win after 2.2 relief innings, while Caden Capomaccio (0-3, Minnesota) took the loss.
