Second Annual 'Multicultural Day at Harbour Station' Set to be Staged on Sunday

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs in partnership with the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre are pleased to announce that the Second Annual Multicultural Day at Harbour Station will take place during this Sunday's home game versus the Quebec Remparts.
"We're very pleased to once again partner with the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre for this exciting promotion," says Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "Our city has a wonderful tradition of embracing and celebrating our cultural diversity and we're looking forward to honouring that tradition on Sunday."
Fans attending this match (puck drop: 4pm) will be treated to an eclectic mix of music from throughout the world. Furthermore, several local cultural associations will be on hand to help cultivate a festive atmosphere, with several minority groups set to showcase their unique heritage.
Tickets to Sunday's game are available at a discounted rate at the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre (47 Charlotte Street / Saint John, NB / E2L 2H8).
"Saint John is becoming a more and more diverse community, and this event gives our growing multicultural population an opportunity to celebrate," said SJMNRC Chair Anne Marie Gillis. "At the same time, hockey is a Canadian institution, and many newcomers will get a chance to be introduced to the sport for the first time."
The Saint John Multicultural and Newcomers Resource Centre Inc. (SJMNRC) is a non-profit organization that provides an integrated approach to services for newcomers, including one-on-one employment-related counseling as well as referral and placement services to immigrants. Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 16-3-0-2, the Sea Dogs will next hit the ice on Saturday night at 7:00pm for an intradivisional showdown with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at Harbour Station.
