Thinel is in his third season with the Mavericks and serving his third term as team captain. In the past three years, the talented forward has only missed one game for the Mavericks, scored 58 goals, tallied 136 assists, taken 457 shots on goal, and spent 83 minutes in the penalty box for his team.

The Mavericks fell 4-1 in Denver on Tuesday night against the Cutthroats. In a disappointing three periods of play, Missouri simply could not find a way to connect with the back of the Denver net, and goaltender Joe Howe, in his third appearance for the Mavericks, was left to face a relentless pace of shots on goal.

After trailing 1-0 in the first period, the Mavericks were able to tie with a redirected goal from the point by Andrew Courtney, but that would be then end of Missouri's offensive success, as they let three power play opportunities slip out of their hands and allowed a short-handed goal in the third period. Leading 3-1 the Cutthroats took advantage of an empty Mavericks' net in the final minute of play and sealed the game 4-1 in their favor.

Dave Pszenyczny, suspended for 3 games for a hit to the head on a Rush player last Friday night, will return to the ice for the Mavericks on November 23, against the St. Charles Chill; the Mavericks will be one player short on their bench for the next two games until then.

The Mavericks return home on November 22nd to face the St. Charles Chill in their second game of the Show Me Cup series. With season tickets starting at just over $11 per game and FREE parking, the Mavericks are the pinnacle of family affordable entertainment.
