SeaWolves Announce 2018 Promotional Schedule

(Erie, PA) - The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, have released the team's 2018 promotional calendar. 2018 Opening Day, presented by Plyler Entry Systems, is Friday, April 13 against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 6:05 p.m. Gates will open at 4 p.m. so fans can watch batting practice. Fans can also enjoy the fifth annual Opening Day Bash featuring entertainment in the UPMC Park plaza.

FIREWORKS

This season's slate features 14 Zambelli fireworks nights, including three shows during the Independence Day homestand (June 30, July 1 and July 3). The team will wear commemorative Stars & Stripes caps that will be auctioned off to benefit a local veterans charity on July 3. Fireworks musical themes include Green Day (April 28), The Rolling Stones (May 19), Country Hits (May 26), Lady Gaga (June 9), Songs About Candy (June 23), Tom Petty (June 30), Garth Brooks (July 1), Patriotic Classics (July 3), Armed Forces Themes (July 14), Star Wars (July 28), Video Game Soundtracks (August 18), Game Show Theme Songs (September 1), and John Mellencamp (September 2).

GIVEAWAYS

Every Friday home game in 2018 will feature a promotional giveaway. On Opening Day, fans can pick up a schedule poster compliments of Delta Sonic as they exit the ballpark. On April 27, the first 1,000 fans will receive a SeaWolves fleece blanket courtesy of Pepsi.

May 18 is the first bobblehead giveaway of the season as the first 1,000 fans will receive a Justin Verlander World Champion collectable courtesy of UPMC Hamot . On May 25, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Christin Stewart 'Throne of Bats' HR King bobblehead on Game of Thrones Night. The first 1,000 kids (ages 4-14) will receive a youth jersey courtesy of VisitPITTSBURGH on June 29. Friday, July 13, the first 1,000 fans (ages 15 & up) will receive a SeaWolves henley hoodie courtesy of Velocity Network.

On Friday, July 27, the SeaWolves will be transformed into the Erie SnowWolves on Christmas in July. That night, the first 1,000 fans will receive a SnowWolves winter cap thanks to Ariens Company. The first 1,000 muggles on August 17 will receive a C. Wolf Sorting Hat bobblehead and on August 31, the first 1,000 (ages 15 & older) will receive a SeaWolves adult jersey.

DAILY PROMOTIONS

Many of the team's top game day promotions will return in 2018. Monday home games will feature Buck Night concession specials with Smith's hot dogs, Pepsi soft drinks, popcorn and select draft beers for just $1 each. The first Buck Night, presented by Budweiser and Rocket 105, will be Monday, April 16.

The first 250 kids (ages 12 & under) through the gates at each Kids Eat Free Tuesday game will be treated to a free Smith's hot dog, a bag of Utz potato chips and a Pepsi fountain drink thanks to 94.7 BOB-FM. Fans can also enjoy Two-Buck Tuesday specials (select draft beers for $2) in the Bud Light Beer Garden through the sixth inning. Other day-of-the-week promotions include AAA Member Wednesdays (AAA members save $2 on tickets at the UPMC Park Ticket Office), Yuengling Thursdays ($2 Yuengling drafts at the Smith's Shack until the end of the sixth inning) and Happy Hour Fridays ($2 drink specials exclusively in the Bud Light Beer Garden until first pitch). For each Saturday home game, fans can purchase a McDonald's Friends and Family package. Each McDonald's Friends and Family package includes two (2) SeaWolves game tickets, two (2) SeaWolves caps and two (2) McDonald's Extra Value Meals all for as low as $20.

Sunday games feature multiple promotions including Wendy's Scratch & Win Sunday (the first 500 fans receive guaranteed winning scratch-off card), Kids Crew Day (Kids Crew members receive free admission to game to all 1:35 p.m. Sunday games thanks to Giant Eagle and Star 104) and post-game Catch on the Field (all Sunday 1:35 p.m. games). Additionally, Erie Federal Credit Union members can present their Platinum MasterCard, debit card or member ID when purchasing a regularly priced game ticket at the UPMC Park ticket office to receive a voucher for a free Smth's hot dog and fountain drink (limit four vouchers per member).

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

The SeaWolves continue to partner with area businesses to support community initiatives. Local school students will learn during Education Days presented by UPMC Health Plan with special 11:05 a.m. start times on May 2, May 9, and May 31. The SeaWolves and UPMC Health Plan will "Paint the Park Pink" on June 8-9. Players will don pink jerseys that will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting cancer support initiatives of the Hamot Health Foundation. On Friday, June 8, the first 1,000 fans (ages 13 & older) receive a pink SeaWolves t-shirt while Saturday, June 9 will feature post-game fireworks.

On Sunday, June 10 the SeaWolves will host their seventh annual sensory-friendly game in partnership with Autism Society NWPA. On Saturday, July 14, the SeaWolves will host Military Appreciation Night. The SeaWolves will wear special military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned to benefit the PA Soldiers' & Sailors' Home.

The SeaWolves will partner with the City of Erie to celebrate the community's "birthday" on Saturday, April 14 (the City of Erie was incorporated on April 14, 1851). The event, known as Erie Day, will highlight life in the Flagship City and recognize a member of the Erie community for his or her contributions. The event will conclude with a post-game team autograph session. Additional details about this new celebration will be released separately.

OTHER NOTABLE NIGHTS

On Saturday, June 23, the SeaWolves will host Sugar Rush Night, a theme night dedicated candy and sweets. The Pirate Parrot will bring his shenanigans to UPMC Park on Friday, June 29. After the game on Tuesday, August 14, SeaWolves fans will be treated to death-defying acrobatics of the Human Cannonball. Dave "The Bullet" Smith will be shot out of a cannon in center field and hurled through the air towards a giant net at home plate. On Saturday, August 18, the SeaWolves will host Video Game Night featuring themed contests and video game giveaways.

Some popular promotions will return this season. Team Ghost Riders will entertain the fans on Tuesday, June 19 with the best sheepdog-riding monkeys around. Dog owners can bring their leashed pets to the games on Tuesday, May 8, Thursday, June 7 and Tuesday, August 7 for Bark at the Park. The team will host its annual Family Campout after the game on Friday, June 22. The SeaWolves will also host three Saturday beer tasting events in the Bud Light Beer Garden on May 19, June 23 and July 14.

Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite crime-fighters on Sunday, July 15 for Super Hero Day. Back by popular demand, Star Wars Night returns on Saturday, July 28. The SeaWolves will wear commemorative Star Wars themed jerseys and fans will have the opportunity to meet Star Wars characters.

SUPER TICKET SATURDAY

Erie SeaWolves single-game tickets will be available for purchase online, via phone and at the UPMC Park ticket office starting Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. The team will celebrate Super Ticket Saturday with prize giveaways and free food and drinks compliments of Panera Bread, Smith Provision Co., Utz Quality Snacks, Cellone's and Pepsi. Rocket 101 will be on site from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Fans can purchase individual game tickets, season ticket packages and a wide selection of NEW SeaWolves merchandise

Fans can help the SeaWolves 'Stuff the Batter's Box' to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA. Fans who donate non-perishable food items to Second Harvest on Super Ticket Saturday will be entered into a drawing for SeaWolves tickets and VIP experiences. The SeaWolves will award over $1,000 in prizes to fans donating at the food drive. During fiscal year 2016-2017, Second Harvest provided 12 million pounds of food to needy recipients in the Erie community.
