Seattle Storm News Release
SEATTLEÃÂ - The Seattle Storm today announced that the franchise has re-signed veteran guardÃÂ EpiphannyÃÂ Prince. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are excited to haveÃÂ PiphÃÂ back," head coachÃÂ Dan Hughes said. "She has established herself as an exciting, effective, versatile player over her WNBA career and had an immediate impact with us last year."
An 11-year WNBA veteran, Prince signed with Seattle as a free agent last season. SheÃÂ helpedÃÂ the Storm to their fourth WNBA championship, and her first, with 5.0 points and 2.2 assists per game in theÃÂ playoffs.ÃÂ Currently playing for Galatasaray in the Turkish Women's Basketball League alongsideÃÂ Mercedes Russell, Prince is averaging 16.8 points, 3.5 rebounds,ÃÂ and 3.0 assists per game inÃÂ EuroLeagueÃÂ action.
"I'm very excited and grateful for the opportunity to return to play for theÃÂ Storm," Prince said. "I'm looking forward to another great season and hopefully get the chance to finally enjoy the great city of Seattle."
Prince has averaged 9.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game throughout her career, while connecting on 33.3 percent of her three-point attempts.
After earning two All-Star selections with Chicago, where she was part of a run to the 2014 WNBA Finals, the New York native was traded to the Liberty prior to the start of the 2015 season. Prince wasÃÂ the team's second-leading scorer and finished the season with All-WNBA Second Team honors. In 2017, Prince was named AP Comeback Player of the Year after missing the majority of the 2016 season to recover from a torn ACL.
A standout at Rutgers University, Prince got her professional start overseas in Turkey before joining the WNBA as the No. 4 overall selection by Chicago in the 2010 WNBA Draft. Her success on the international circuit includes three trips to theÃÂ EuroLeagueÃÂ Finals, most recently in 2019 alongsideÃÂ Breanna Stewart.ÃÂ
