
Seattle Storm Host 'Welcome Back Night' At KeyArena On Wednesday

SEATTLE â After a one-month Olympic hiatus, the Seattle Storm return to action this week, hosting the Sacramento Monarchs at KeyArena on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
The Storm welcome back three participants from the 2004 Olympics in Athens â head coach Anne Donovan, an assistant coach on the gold-medal-winning U.S. Women's Senior National Team, and WNBA All-Stars Sue Bird, a gold-medal winner on Team USA and Lauren Jackson, a member of the silver-medal-winning Australian National Team.
Donovan and Bird helped lead Team USA to its third straight Olympic gold medal with a 74-63 victory over Jackson's Australian squad in Saturday's finale in Athens.
The Storm trio reunites for the WNBA playoff push starting this Wednesday as the team trails the first-place Los Angeles Sparks by one-and-a-half games with nine regular-season games to play in 18 days.
The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net with Jim Watson and Mary Murphy calling all the action. It will also be broadcast on Sports Radio 950 KJR AM with David Locke providing the play-by-play and Elise Woodward serving as the game analyst.

The first 2,000 fans, ages 14 and under, will receive a free Storm backpack as part of "Back to School Night."
One lucky row of fans will receive an autographed copy of Sue Bird's children's book "Be Yourself" as well as a Starbucks card courtesy of Positively For Kids and Starbucks Coffee.
A fifth-year commemorative Seattle Storm Yearbook featuring many colorful photos of memorable moments in the team's history will be on sale for $9.99 at the Sonics & Storm Team Shop and at merchandise stands throughout the KeyArena concourse.
Storm forward Adia Barnes will be hosting a drive for school supplies. Fans are encouraged to bring new school supplies to the game and drop them off in the bins located on KeyArena's East and West Plazas before the game. Items will be donated to High Point Elementary School.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises â the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
