
Seattle Storm announce 2006 radio and television broadcast schedules

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm today announced their 2006 radio and television schedules with FSN Northwest and radio flagship station Sports Radio 950 KJR AM.
For the sixth season, Sports Radio 950 KJR AM will broadcast all Storm regular-season games. KJR AM will also air the Saturday, May 7 Storm preseason game against the New York Liberty live from KeyArena.
Play-by-play announcer David Locke enters his seventh season as "Voice of the Storm" on KJR AM. He will again be joined by game analyst Elise Woodward, who begins her sixth campaign as a color commentator for Storm broadcasts.
For the second straight season, FSN Northwest will televise a minimum of three Storm regular-season games including the team's season opener at KeyArena against the Los Angeles Sparks. The other two games to be televised are the matchup at Phoenix on May 25 and the June 4 contest vs. San Antonio.
In addition to the three games broadcast on television locally by FSN Northwest, four of the Storm's 34 games will be broadcast nationally, including a home matchup against defending WNBA Champion Sacramento on Tuesday, June 27 on ESPN2. The Storm's 2006 WNBA regular season will close Saturday, Aug. 12 against the Houston Comets on ABC.
The Storm will open their 2006 season against Western Conference rival Los Angeles at KeyArena beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. The opener will be broadcast locally on FSN Northwest. The following Tuesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Houston Comets at 8 p.m. in a game televised to a national audience on ESPN2.
Single-game tickets for all of the Storm's 2006 regular-season home games, as well as their May 7 preseason game against the New York Liberty at KeyArena, will go on sale Monday, May 1 at 10 a.m. All Storm home games will be played at the Key this summer, the team's seventh season in the WNBA. The Seattle Sonics & Storm organization manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises - the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
