Seattle Storm announce 2004 Dance Troupe auditions

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that auditions for the 2004 Storm Dance Troupe will be held Wednesday, April 7 at The Furtado Center, the Sonics & Storm Training Facility.

· Auditions are free and open to boys and girls, ages 7-14

(Must be age 7 by April 25, 2004 and age 15 no earlier than Sept. 17, 2004)

· Hip-hop and gymnastic skills are recommended.

· Non-marking athletic shoes must be worn.

· Doors open for registration at 5 p.m.

· Auditions will be closed to viewers from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

· Applicants should bring a current, non-returnable photograph.

· Storm players Adia Barnes and Betty Lennox will be in attendance to support the applicants.

The selected Storm Dance Troupe members will perform at Storm home games at KeyArena this summer.

The Storm owns the sixth overall pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft to be held Saturday, April 17. The team's fifth season in the WNBA tips off Thursday, May 20 against the Minnesota Lynx at KeyArena.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises – the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations, broadcast production and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
