
Seattle Sonics Assign Mouhamed Sene to Idaho Stampede

NEW YORK, Dec. 23, 2007 - The Seattle Sonics today assigned center Mouhamed Sene to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede. Sene is the 21st player assigned from the NBA to the D-League and the first from the Sonics to the Stampede this season. Sene is scheduled to play his first game in Boise on Wednesday, Dec. 26 when the Stampede host the Bakersfield Jam.
Sene, 6-11, 230-pounds, has appeared in nine games for the Sonics this season and is averaging 1.7 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 4.2 minutes per game. In four preseason games with Seattle, Sene averaged 3.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 10.8 minutes per game.
Drafted by the Sonics in the first round (10th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft, Sene played 15 games for Idaho during the 2006-07 season and averaged 9.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 21.4 minutes per game.
Sene joins a Stampede team with a 7-5 record on the season. The Stampede are one game behind the Western Division-leading Los Angeles D-Fenders.
