Seattle Reign FC Announces 2018 Preseason Roster

Seattle - Seattle Reign FC today announced its 34-player preseason roster as it begins Preseason Training Camp presented by UW Medicine. The roster includes 17 players under contract, 4 players acquired in the Boston dispersal draft, 2 NWSL College Draft Picks, and 11 non-roster invitees.

2018 NWSL College Draft Pick (CDP)

U.S. Women's National Team members Allie Long and Megan Rapinoe were both named to the SheBelieves Cup preliminary roster last week. As such, neither will report to Reign FC training camp until mid-March, after the completion of the SheBelieves Cup.

Additionally, five Reign FC players - Jodie Taylor, Jess Fishlock, Lu Barnes, Steph Catley and Lydia Williams - were part of the Melbourne City squad that won their third-consecutive W-League Championship in Sydney, Australia on Saturday night. Williams, Catley and Barnes managed a clean sheet, while goals from Fishlock and Taylor sealed the 2-0 victory. Fishlock was named Player of the Match for her performance.

Barnes will return to Seattle in early March, while Fishlock and Taylor will return mid-March after their international duty is complete. Williams and Catley will remain with the Australian Women's National Team until April 23, as they prepare for and participate in the Asian Cup, which will determine the teams from the Asian Football Confederation that participate in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

Ghanaian international midfielder Elizabeth Addo is expected to arrive in Seattle mid-week to join preseason training.

Celia Jimenez Delgado, who was acquired by Reign FC with the 36th pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft, is completing her degree in aerospace engineering at Alabama and expects to join Seattle in May.

Seattle Reign FC will be led by Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski, who joined Reign FC in the offseason from FC Kansas City, where he won two NWSL Championships during his five years with the club. Assistant Coach Sam Laity will return, as will Director of High Performance Nick Leman.

Reign FC's first preseason match, against the University of Washington, is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. PT at Husky Soccer Stadium. The club's second preseason match, against UCLA, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at 8:00 p.m. PT at the SilverLakes Complex in Norco, CA.

Seattle Reign FC will begin the 2018 NWSL Regular Season with a home match against the Washington Spirit on Saturday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. PT on the UW Medicine Pitch at Memorial Stadium.
