Seals Dominate All-Star Squad

The Orlando Seals have placed three players on the starting line-up, and two other players on Team WHA2 for the all-star game in Jacksonville on Tuesday January 27th.

Voted onto the starting line-up from the Seals are goaltender David Goverde, defenseman Mark White, and center Brad Federenko. Added to the all-star roster were center Joe Pecoraro, and left wing B.J.Stephens. Seals equipment manager Clint Reif will handle the equipment duties for team WHA2. Earlier the league announced Seals head coach Jim Paek would be the head coach for team WHA2.

Goverde, leads the league with 12 wins and a 2.65 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. White has four goals and 16 assists for 20 points and is +5 on the season. Federenko, the Seals captain, has scored 11 goals and has 15 assists for 26 points.

Stephens, the Seals all time leading goal scorer, leads the club this season in scoring and goals with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points. Pecoraro, who started the season on defense, and has recently moved to center, has rolled up 13 points on five goals and eight assists. Reif is in his second season as the Seals equipment manager, after also working with the Orlando Solar Bears during their Turner Cup championship season of 2000-01.

The WHA2 all star game will pit the the league all-stars against the host Jacksonville Barracudas. The game will take place in the recently opened Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Seals return home on Thursday January 8th to face the Alabama Slammers at 7:05 p.m.
