
Five Manatees Named to All-Star Roster

Miami â The first WHA2 All-Star Game will have a decidedly Miami Manatees feel to the event. The WHA2 today announced that five members of the Manatees will take part in the All-Star Game on January 27th in Jacksonville.
Representing the Manatees on the ice will be left wing Kevin Swider, defenseman Tom Perry, and named as a starter, right wing Oak Hewer. Representing the Manatees on the bench, Head Coach Zac Boyer will act as the All-Star Team Asst. Coach and Danielle Henry as the trainer for the league All-Stars.
Oak Hewer leads the Manatees in goal scoring with 14 goals and 37 points, and is second in the WHA2 in points. Kevin Swider is second in team scoring with 25 points and is tied for ninth in overall scoring in the league.
Tom Perry is the second highest scoring defenseman in the WHA2 with 24 points. His five goals also ties him for first in the WHA2, as well as second in assists with 19, tied for third in +/- with +13, and tied for second in power play points with 11.
"It is an honor for these players to represent the Miami Manatees in the All-Star game and their accomplishments earned them their spot. It is also an honor for me and athletic trainer Danielle Henry to be a part of the festivities in Jacksonville." Boyer said.
The WHA2 All-Star game pits the Jacksonville Barracudas against the league All-Stars. The game will take place at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
The Miami Manatees face off against the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, and Orlando Seals in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games are broadcast on www.irn.fm.
