WHA2 Announces All-Star Line-up

CELEBRATION, Fla. – The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) today announced that the All-Star starting line-up and roster have been determined.

Throughout the month of December, fans voted for their favorite players to be a part of the WHA2 All-Star starting line up. Top vote-getter, with 25% of all votes cast, Orlando Seals David Goverde has earned the start in net. Orlando Seals Mark White and Jacksonville Barracudas Mike Johnson were voted to man the blue line. Since Johnson will be a part of the Barracudas team, Macon Trax Art Mnatsakanov, who received the next most votes, will start for the All-Stars.

Rounding out the starting line-up is Miami Manatees Oak Hewer, Orlando Seals Brad Federenko, and Lakeland Loggerheads Chris Cerrella.

Orlando Seals Head Coach and Head Coach of the All-Star team Jim Paek and Miami Manatees Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the All-Star team Zac Boyer filled out the rest of the roster with the following picks: Lakeland Loggerheads Jim Callahan, Macon Trax David Deeves, Alabama Slammers Doug Lawrence, Orlando Seals Joe Pecoraro, Miami Manatees Tom Perry, Alabama Slammers Ryan Prentice, Alabama Slammers Jamie Ronayne, Orlando Seals B.J. Stephens, Miami Manatees Kevin Swider, and Macon Trax Steve Zoryk.

"There were some difficult choices to make from a lot of quality players, but Zac and I are very happy with our team." Paek said.

"The All-Star game is a great opportunity for Jim and me to have fun and put together a team of stars from around the league." Boyer said.

Paek and Boyer announced that Miami Manatees Trainer Danielle Henry has been chosen to be the trainer for the All-Star team and Orlando Seals Equipment Manager Clint Reif will be the All-Star team's equipment manager.

The WHA2 has six member teams for the 2003 – 2004 season: the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and Orlando Seals.
