
Sea Dogs win 5-4 shootout

The Moncton Wildcats had their second sellout of the season, 6803 fans and they saw the two top teams in the QMJHL battle for 65 minutes on Saturday night with the Saint John Sea Dogs winning 5-4 in a shootout.
It was 1-0 Saint John after the first period, 3-2 for the Sea Dogs after 40 minutes and 4-4 at the end of regulation time. The five minute overtime failed to get a winner. The Sea Dogs scored three times in the shootout to insure the win.
Mike Hoffman, Michael Kirkpatrick, Nicolas Peterson and Yann Sauve were the Saint John goal getters. Brandon Gormley, Daniel Pettersson, Mark Barberio and Randy Cameron replied for the Wildcats. Jonathan Huberdeau sealed the victory with his shoot out counter.
Moncton out shot Saint John 35-29.
The Wildcats now play three games on the road beginning in Lewiston on Wednesday night, game time is 8 pm Atlantic time, follow the action on News 91.9 and the Telus website.
