Sea Dogs seek interns for 2005 season

Portland Sea Dogs News Release


The Portland Sea Dogs, Class AA Eastern League Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are seeking to hire up to nine interns for the 2005 baseball season. The Sea Dogs offer internships in the following areas; Group Sales (2), Ticket Office (2), Merchandising, Marketing & Promotions, Public Relations, Finance & Stadium Operations.

All interns regardless of what specific area they work in will receive a well-rounded look at the organization. All interns will be expected to cover the front desk, learn the ticket system, assist with on-field promotions, and much more. Interns will be expected to start between the months of January and March and will be required to work through the end of the season (late August/ early September).

In addition, to the Sea Dogs 142 game regular season schedule; the Sea Dogs will host the 2005 Eastern League All-Star Game.

Qualifications:

The successful candidates must be computer literate; knowledge of Word and Excel is helpful. Good writing and communication skills are also a necessity. A friendly, outgoing personality, who can provide outstanding customer service, is critical. Most importantly the successful candidate should be goal orientated and dedicated to succeeding. The ideal candidate should be seeking academic credit.

The position requires long hours, multi-tasking, and the ability to working with a minimum amount of supervision.

Compensation:

The Compensation for this position is $600 a month, a full knowledge of the operations of a successful minor league baseball team, contacts, and a possible "foot in the door".
