SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that the team has called up affiliate players Will Johnston (Summerside, MJAHL) and Tyrone Sock (Miramichi, NB-PEI-MMHL).

Johnston, 19, appeared in five games with the Sea Dogs during the regular season, registering 1G-0A-1P-5PIM. The 6'4", 220 lb. winger recorded a career-high 45 points (23G-22A) in 42 games played with the Western Capitals this year while also leading the MJAHL in penalty minutes with 224.

Sock, 17, tallied 33GP-8G-17A-25P-50PIM with Miramichi during the 09-10 campaign, adding 9GP-0G-4A-4P-2PIM during a successful playoff run which saw the Rivermen capturing a provincial title. Miramichi came within a single game of winning an Atlantic Major Midget Championship this past weekend, dropping a 6-3 decision to St. John's in the five-team tournament's finale. Selected by Saint John in Round Four (64th overall) of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft, Sock appeared in one game with the Sea Dogs earlier this season. The 6'0", 181 lb. blue-liner registered five penalty minutes and two shots on goal in the contest, a 4-3 road win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Saint John has earned a berth in the QMJHL quarter-finals by virtue of their opening round playoff victory over the P.E.I. Rocket. The Sea Dogs' second round opponent will be determined later this evening, with the first game of the series set to take place at Harbour Station on Friday night at 7:30pm. Tickets to this match as well as Game 2 of the series (Saturday, 7pm) are on sale now at the arena box office (506-657-1234 or www.tickets.harbourstation.ca).
