Sea Dogs Recall Larocque-Marcoux

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Head Coach and General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the team has recalled Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux from Gatineau (QCMAAA). The 17-year old forward is expected to make his official QMJHL debut this weekend for the Sea Dogs, who are set to play three games in three days versus Atlantic Division opponents.

Larocque-Marcoux currently leads Quebec's Midget AAA Hockey League in scoring. The 5'10", 167 lb. winger has registered 23G-34A-57P in only 27 games played with the Gatineau Intrepides thus far in 2008-09. The Sea Dogs originally drafted Larocque-Marcoux in the ninth round (158th overall) of the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Gatineau, QC native appeared in three pre-season games with Saint John this past September, registering 0G-1A-1P.

Saint John (18-14-1-1) next hits the ice on Friday evening at 7:30pm for a home contest versus the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (20-11-1-1). Tickets to this important intra-divisional match can be obtained by calling the Harbour Station Box Office at (506) 657-1234. The first 3,000 fans in attendance at this game will receive a free Sea Dogs team poster courtesy of Irving Oil.

The Sea Dogs will face the Screaming Eagles again on Saturday in a game designated Holiday Fun Night. The puck drops at 7:00pm, with a variety of Christmas-themed promotions set to be staged at Harbour Station throughout the evening, including an appearance by Santa Clause. Furthermore, the first 1,000 fans aged 14 and under are set to receive a free Chris DiDomenico bobble head doll courtesy of Irving Oil on Saturday, while the 50-50 jackpot for the night is guaranteed to be at least $5,000.
