GATINEAU - Six different scorers found the net to lead the Saint John Sea Dogs to a 6-3 victory over the Gatineau Olympiques Sunday at Centre Robert-Guertin.

Matthew Highmore and Nathan Noel each registered a goal and an assist for Saint John (19-7-2-1) while Spencer Smallman, Thomas Chabot, Kyle Ward and Samuel Dove-McFalls also scored.

Yakov Trenin, Vitalii Abramov and Zack MacEwen replied for Gatineau (11-15-3-0).

Saint John won three of four games on its second Quebec road trip of the season.

A scoring summary is available HERE .

The Olympiques struck first with a shorthanded marker 75 seconds into the game.

After the puck was dumped into the Sea Dogs' zone, Trenin pressured the Saint John defence and caused a turnover. The Russian centre corralled the puck and swept a backhand shot through the legs of a surprised Alex Bishop in goal.

Teddy bears and stuffed animals rained down to the ice as part of Teddy Bear Toss day in Gatineau.

Smallman tied the game at the seven-minute mark.

The Saint John captain had an initial shot from the right side stopped. Alexandre Bernier took the puck around the net and fed a pass to the top of the crease for Smallman, who tapped it past goalie Mathieu Bellemare and into the open cage.

Chabot gave the Sea Dogs their first lead eight-and-a-half minutes into the second.

With Saint John on the power play, Noel carried the puck into the right corner and spotted a wide-open Chabot streaking to the goal. The Ottawa Senators' first-rounder whipped a wrist shot over Bellemare's blocker.

Highmore made it a 3-1 game with four minutes to go in the period, as the teams skated 4-on-4.

The overage centre spun out of a scrum into the right corner, charged toward the net along the goal line, stepped around Bellemare and swept the puck into an open net.

But Abramov replied 55 seconds later, taking a pass at the Sea Dog blueline for a short breakaway and burying a quick shot over the blocker of Bishop.

Saint John restored its two-goal lead more than eight minutes into the third when Ward slipped past his check on the left wing and rifled a shot that beat Bellemare for the eventual game-winning goal.

The lead was cut to 4-3 with eight minutes left when MacEwen hammered a slap shot from the top of the left circle that went over Bishop's blocker for a power play goal.

But the Sea Dogs were relentless, adding an insurance marker with three minutes to go.

Dove-McFalls created a turnover in the Gatineau zone. Eventually, Mathieu Joseph took the puck into the left circle and tried a shot that was deflected into the air. Dove-McFalls gloved it down and chipped it past Bellemare's left leg to make it 5-3.

Noel capped the scoring with an empty net goal from the neutral zone with 3.3 seconds remaining.

Bishop made 15 saves and picked up an assist in the victory. Bellemare took the loss with 32 stops.

Chabot was named first star with one goal and four shots. Trenin snared second star with his shorthanded strike. Highmore got third star with his two-point effort in front of 1,720 fans in attendance.

The Sea Dogs' next game is Wednesday, December 7th, at 7 p.m. against the Moncton Wildcats at Harbour Station. Tickets are available at the Harbour Station Box Office, or fans can save money and buy online .
