Sea Dogs Name Bailey Webster New Captain

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to name defenceman Bailey Webster team captain for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

The 20-year-old from Kelvin Grove, PEI, is the 15th captain in franchise history. He had been an alternate captain for Saint John.

Webster has one goal and seven points in 38 games in his fourth full season with the Sea Dogs. He has four goals and 30 points in 187 career games. He was selected by Saint John in the seventh round (113th overall) of the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Fellow overage defenceman Brendan O'Reilly has been named an alternate captain. The native of Southlake, Texas, was signed as a free agent by Saint John on November 15th. He has one goal and four points in 15 games with the Sea Dogs. He played parts of four seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL) between 2013 and 2017.

Forwards Cole Reginato and Anthony Boucher will remain alternate captains.
