The Saint John Sea Dogs (38-17-1-3) got a big win and ended the Quebec Remparts (43-15-1-0) win streak with a 4-2 win at TD Station on Sunday afternoon. Goals came from William Villeneuve, Josh Lawrence, Peter Reynolds, and Vincent Sévigny in the win.

Thomas Couture got the start in net making 37 saves on 39 shots and earning himself the first star of the game. William Rousseau started for Quebec, making 27 saves on 31 shots.

Before the game, William Villeneuve and William Dufour were surprised with a pregame ceremony to honour the records they've broken this season, Villeneuve for becoming the all time defensive assist leader in Sea Dogs history, and Dufour for scoring the most goals by a Sea Dog in a single season. Both of the players' parents came from Quebec to present them with plaques to commemorate their achievements.

The Sea Dogs got on the board first when a shot from the point by William Villeneuve made its way through traffic and past Quebec's netminder.

A few penalties were exchanged throughout the period, but William Villeneuve's goal would remain the only one for the first 20 minutes of play. Nathan Gaucher was sent off at 14:58 for boarding, and Brady Burns and Connor Frenette were sent off after some shoving at 17:28, sending play to 4-on-4.

A slashing penalty to Vsevolod Komarov with one minute remaining in the period sent play briefly to 4-on-3 for Saint John before the first intermission. Saint John began the second frame with one minute remaining on the power play.

Shots after the first were 13-7 for Saint John.

With two seconds remaining in the power play, Josh Lawrence ripped a shot top shelf and extended the Sea Dogs lead to two. The goal extended his streak, making it 23 straight home games with points. William Dufour got the assist on the goal and extended his own point streak to 21 straight home games.

A penalty to Olivier Picard sent the Sea Dogs to the penalty kill. The Remparts took advantage of the resulting power play and scored their first of the game nine minutes into the period.

The rest of the period continued scoreless and Saint John went into the final frame up 2-1.

Shots after the second were 24-20 for Saint John.

The first half of the final period was scoreless as both netminders put on a show until Peter Reynold broke past William Rousseau, redirecting a shot by Nathan Drapeau at 12:28.

Quebec scored their second of the afternoon shortly after and brought it back to being a one goal game.

With 1:52 remaining in the game, Quebec called a time out and pulled Rousseau to increase pressure in an attempt to tie the game up. Saint John kept them from scoring and Vincent Sévigny hit the back of the net from the Sea Dogs zone to solidify the 4-2 win at TD Station.

Final shots were 39-31 for Quebec.
