Sea Dogs And Home Depot Partner For Backyard Rink Contest

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs and the Home Depot are proud to announce that the two organizations have partnered in presenting the 2009 Saint John Home Depot Backyard Rink Contest.
Beginning today, hockey enthusiasts from throughout the greater Saint John area who have elected to build a backyard rink this winter will have the opportunity to win a private game of shinny with members of the Sea Dogs. Anyone wishing to enter this exciting contest must fill out a special ballot at the Home Depot's lone Saint John location, which can be found at 55 Depot Court.
One winning entry will be selected through a random draw at Harbour Station during the Sea Dogs - Titan game on February 13 (deadline to enter: Feb. 13, noon). The date and time of the Sea Dogs shinny game will be determined subsequent to the winning entry being announced.
As part of this promotion, Port City residents are able to have their backyard rinks profiled on the Sea Dogs' website by emailing photographs of their homemade skating facility to markgamble@saintjohnseadogs.com. A brief description of the rink should accompany the submitted photograph(s).
The Home Depot will also be sponsoring the Sea Dogs' next home game, scheduled to take place on Wednesday night at 7pm versus the P.E.I. Rocket. The first 1,000 fans in attendance at this game will receive a free winter hat courtesy of the Home Depot.
