Scrubb And Subs Key In Victory Over Stars

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the Salt Lake City Stars at the RP Funding Center. Reserves R.J. Hampton, Kevon Harris, and Chuma Okeke combined for 61 points off the bench resulting in a 126-116-point win over the Stars on Saturday night.
Jay Scrubb led six Magic scorers in double figures with 28 points, and Lakeland's bench outscored the Stars' reserves 63-16.
"Last night we had a 19-2 run at the end of the game, we knew we needed to play like that and go on multiple runs in this game," said Okeke who had seven rebounds and four assists. "We had to work hard as a unit in order to gain this win tonight."
The Magic would lead by as much as 23 points after going on an 18-5 run in the third quarter. Lakeland would force Salt Lake City to commit 13 turnovers to the Magic's three.
Stacy Davis would put up an NBA G League career-high 36 points and Tyler cook would add 20 for the Stars.
The Lakeland Magic (10-9) will face the Cleveland Charge, on Friday, February 24 in Cleveland at 7:00 PM on NBAGleague.com.
