CEDAR PARK, Texas - NBA G League Ignite (7-10) fell to the Austin Spurs (6-12), 116-82, on Friday night to split the two-game series at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in Cedar Park, Texas.
Leonard Miller recorded his second-straight double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds on 6-of-11 shots from the field. London Johnson followed with 13 points, five assists and two rebounds, while Cameron Young finished with 12 points. Mojave King nearly notched a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Spurs were led by Tommy Kuhse, who finished with a stat line of 25 points, six rebounds and five assists on 6-of-15 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Jordan Murphy tallied a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Brandon Murphy and Marcus Zegarowski each added 18 points. Jordan Hall nearly recorded a triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
The Spurs claimed an early 16-point lead at the halfway mark after putting on a shooting clinic in the first half. As a team, the Spurs shot at a 56.8 percent clip from the field, including 64.7 percent from the three-point line in that span. Marcus Zegarowski, of the Spurs, led the way after pouring in 14 of his 18 points in the first half on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc. Tommy Kuhse and Justin Kier added 12 and 11 points for the Spurs, respectively.
The Spurs continued its stellar night in the second half, while Ignite struggled to find a rhythm on either end of the court. Ignite was held to 35 points on 35.1 percent shooting from the field and 11.1 percent from the three-point line in that span. Ignite finished with a total of 82 points in the game, which marked a season-low. Brandon Randolph, Jordan Murphy and Tommy Kuhse, of the Spurs, each tallied 13 points apiece as the Spurs extended its lead by 35 points in the fourth quarter to coast to the victory.
