
Screaming Eagles Add to Roster

Sydney-The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have added defenceman Zachary Shannon to their roster.
Shannon,18,was Lewiston's 3rd round pick, 46th overall in the 2008 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's midget entry draft. In two seasons with the Maineiacs, the 5'9", 185 lb. native of Fredericton, New Brunswick scored two goals and added 16 assists in 110 games.
Shannon will be available for a pair of games this weekend. On Friday, the Screaming Eagles face the defending Memorial Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs in their home opener. On Sunday, they will take on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
In related news the Screaming Eagles announce that defenceman Jean-Simon Deslauriers will be out of the lineup for the next six to eight weeks due to an upper body injury.
Deslauriers was the Screaming Eagles 1st round pick this past June's Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's midget entry draft.
