
Scrappers Win in Extras, Sweep Spikes

Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
State College, PA - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers beat the State College Spikes 6-4 in 11 innings tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to sweep the two-game series.
Dan DeGeorge's laid down a squeeze bunt in the top of the 11th inning allowing Kevin Fontanez to score. That play proved to be the difference giving the Scrappers a 5-4 lead.
Mahoning Valley added another run in the 11th on a Brian Heere RBI single.
J.D. Goryl got the win for the Scrappers coming in from the bullpen, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out one.
Jhonathan Ramos allowed the two runs in the 11th innings and got the loss for the Spikes.
The Scrappers will head to Williamsport to open a three-game series with the Crosscutters beginning tomorrow night. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
