Scorpions Ask Fans To Be Giving This Holiday Season

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions organization is in a giving mood with the holiday season approaching and they are asking their great fans to help out. In December, the Scorps are holding a food drive, Toys for Tots Night, and on Military Appreciation Night will give away a Scorpions themed playhouse.

From now until December 15th, fans can score a hat trick with Storehouse West and the Scorpions. Bring three cans of food to a home game and be entered into a drawing. Winners will be chosen at random for fabulous prizes including, a night in the Scorpions Team Suite, Clubs Seats at a future Scorps game, an autographed hockey stick and autographed jersey.

The winners will be announced at the Military Appreciation Night game on December 15th. All food donated will benefit Storehouse West in Rio Rancho.

When the Scorpions host the Rocky Mountain Rage on December 1st, it will be "Toys for Tots Night." Bring an unwrapped new toy this holiday season and the Scorpions will give you a gift. Anyone dropping off a toy at the December 1st game will receive a voucher good for $5 off any Corner seat for December home game. There will also be a drawing for a chance to have Stanley appear at your next birthday party.

On December 15th, the Scorps have a game full of fun and tribute. It will be the 2nd Annual "Military Appreciation Night." All military personal can call the Scorpions office for a very special $11 ticket special. The Scorpions will wear military themed jerseys on the ice, with an auction to benefit the Blue Star Mothers New Mexico Chapters following the game.

Also, the Scorpions will be giving away a Scorpions themed playhouse built by the Scorpion players, staff and Stingerz in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Albuquerque. The Scorpions are selling a special chuck-a-puck for $15 that includes a game ticket for the December 15th game and a chuck-a-puck for the contest. Fans can also buy only the chuck-a-puck for $7.50. All profits from this special promotion will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Albuquerque. The Scorpions themed playhouse is currently on display at the Bank of Albuquerque in Rio Rancho just west of Rio Rancho Blvd. on Southern Blvd.

New heads to the road for the "South Texas Swing." Wednesday the Scorps will be in Rio Grande Valley, Friday and Saturday in Laredo and finish the road trip Sunday afternoon against Corpus Christi. Wednesday and Sunday's games can be heard on 610 The Sports Animal while Friday and Saturday the games can be heard on 1050 KTBL. All games can be seen for free on the CHL Network.

The Scorpions return home on Friday, November 30th when the Colorado Eagles make a visit to the Santa Ana Star Center at 7:15 p.m. The first 1,500 fans inside the gates will receive team trading card set #3.
