Bucks Lose 3-0 Lead, Game In Shootout

ODESSA, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League lost to the Odessa Jackalopes 4-3 in a shootout at the Ector County Coleseum Wednesday night. The Bucks could not hold a 3-0 lead in losing their third straight game-all on the road trip. The Bucks fall to 11-3-1 (23pts).

Laredo led 3-1 going into the third period as the Jackalopes then tied the game at three at the 14:11 mark of the third as Sebastian Thinel scored.

Both teams were scoreless in overtime, then Odessa won the shootout 2-1 as Thinel scored the game-winner as the second 'Jacks shooter. Jackaloepes goaltender Miek Gorman stopped four of the Bucks five shootout attempts. Dominic Leveille also scored for the 'Jacks in the shootout, with Rane Carnegie scoring in the shootout for Laredo.

The Bucks jumped out in front just 1:14 into the game as James Hiebert scored his 10th goal of the season, with Jeff Bes and Matt Summers picking up the assists. The officials initially gave the goal to Summers before changing it to Hiebert. The Jackalopes outshot the Bucks 12-9 in the first period, with Bucks goalie Dustin Traylen setting aside all 12 Odessa shots.

The Bucks widened their lead in the second period when Bes scored five minuts in, off of a nice give-and go from Summers and Hiebert. Laredo made it 3-0 about one minute later at the 6:14mark. With the Bucks short-handed Chris Korchinski intercepted a pass in the Jackalopes end and then brought it all the way down to the left circle, sending in a wrist shot past 'Jacks goalie Mike Gorman, making it 3-0 Bucks.

Odessa cut into the lead making it 3-1 Laredo with just under four minutes left in the period when Nathan Ward scored on the power-play for the Jackalopes. Laredo outshot Odessa in the second period 13-10.

Odessa made it 3-2 Bucks eight minute into the third period when Brian Swiniarski poked in a rebound past Traylen.

Traylen took the shootout loss for the Bucks, making 36 saves, while Gorman stopped 29 saves in the win.

The Bucks are off on Thanksgiving before starting a three-game home stand Friday night against New Mexico at 7:30pm.

**Pre-game Tailgate Party Saturday November 24th**

The Bucks will hold a pre-game tailgate party Saturday, November 24th outside the LEC, courtesy of Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors. The event will start at 5:30pm, with food and beverages to be served. The Bucks will take on New Mexico at 7:30pm.

In addition to having a DJ performing, Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors will have seven-to-eight vehicles on display at the party, and will hold a raffle for fans to win a flat-screen, high definition TV to be given away during the first period of Saturday's game.

Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors will also be giving away free tickets to the game that night to some fans who attend the tail-gate party.
