Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Loveland, Colo. - Colt King and Daymen Rycroft each scored twice and goaltender Scott Reid made 38 saves as the Rocky Mountain Rage won their team-record fifth straight game by defeating the Colorado Eagles, 5-3, at the Budweiser Events Center.

Colorado struck first in the opening period on the power play when Aaron Schneekloth lit the lamp at 11:09. The Rage responded quickly, though, as Rycroft tallied his first of the night at 12:44. King then fired home his first of the evening at 14:24, and the visitors took a 2-1 lead to the first intermission.

Rocky Mountain kept rolling in the second period. Trevor Weisgerber pounced on a rebound left by a drive to the net by Rycroft at 4:14, and King netted his second goal of the game at 7:25 on the power play. The four straight goals gave the Rage a 4-1 lead through two periods.

The Eagles took little time in the third to make things interesting. Mike Lukajic, signed just this week by Colorado after getting cut during training camp, beat Reid twice at 2:20 and then again at 4:17 to slice Rocky Mountain's advantage to 4-3 with more than 15 minutes remaining.

Although he was under siege for the remainder of the third as he faced a period-season-high 20 shots on goal, Reid slammed the door shut the rest of the way. Rycroft sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:12 for the 5-3 final.

Rocky Mountain is now 10-1-1 this season with 21 points and opens up a seven-point lead in the Northwest Division over the second-place Eagles. The team owns the league's longest current winning streak, as well as its second highest winning percentage behind only the Youngstown SteelHounds.

The Rage look to keep their winning streak alive on the road this weekend when they visit the Tulsa Oilers and Texas Brahmas. Friday's tilt from Tulsa can be heard live on The New ESPN Radio 1600 beginning at 6:20 p.m. MST with the pre-game show, while Saturday's showdown in suburban Dallas will be broadcast on a tape delayed basis beginning at approximately 8:00 p.m. MST.

Live audio streaming of both games can be heard on www.rockymountainrage.com beginning at 6:20 p.m. on Friday and 6:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Rocky Mountain returns to Broomfield Event Center on Friday, Nov. 30, when the club hosts the Arizona Sundogs at 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2007-08 season are on sale now with prices ranging from $18-$43 per seat (parking included).
