Scoreless Streak Ends in Loss

The longest scoreless streak in franchise history came to a close on Tuesday night in Zebulon, NC as after three scoreless innings, Carolina brought across four runs in the fourth inning ending a stretch of 32 and 2/3rd scoreless innings for Frederick. The Keys fell in the contest by a final of 8-6.

Frederick grabbed the early lead as the streak remained intact. 2B Ty Kelly scored from second base on a two-out throwing error by SS Ronny Rodriguez to grab a 1-0 lead. The Keys extended the lead as SS Garabez Rosa signled home two runs in the fourth inning.

But the long stretch ended in the bottom of the fourth inning. Keys starter Scott Copeland (3-7) allowed a two-run home run to 1B Jesus Aguilar, who would homer twice in the game. The n with two outs and nobody aboard the Mudcats rallied for two more runs coming home on LF Anthony Gallas' RBI-single.

Down 8-3 in the ninth inning the Keys battled back for three runs placing the tying runner on first base with one down but the rally fizzled. Frederick's winning streak ended at three games.
