
Schlehuber Named Offensive Player of the Week

Lynchburg catcher Braeden Schlehuber was named Carolina League Offensive Player of the Week for the week of May 2-8. He is the first Hillcat this season to receive that honor. Schlehuber hit home runs in back-to-back games on May 6-7 against Winston-Salem, his first two home runs of the season. He also doubled in four straight games during the week. Schlehuber had two hits in five straight games, from Tuesday to Saturday. Overall during the week, Schlehuber hit .455 (10-for-22)**, with four doubles, two home runs, six RBI * *and six runs scored.
This season, Schlehuber is hitting .286 with two home runs and six RBI* *in 19 games played. A fixture behind the plate for the Hillcats, he's also thrown out 34.5% of baserunners trying to steal, and hasn't allowed a passed ball this season. He was a fourth round pick for the Braves in the 2008 draft.
