Saskatchewan Rattlers News Release

The 2022 Saskatchewan Rattlers schedule is LIVE. Ssswish is getting all the ingredients for a winning 2022 Season.

The Saskatchewan Rattlers, led by new head coach Dean Demopoulos, announced their schedule for the 2022 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League on Thursday. Following two seasons of play shortened by the pandemic, the 2022 schedule features the first full 20-game slate in front of fans since the Rattlers CEBL Championship season of 2019.

The Rattlers aim to fully rebuild this season from the fan experience to the talent on the hardwood. Fans can see all 10 CEBL opponents at the SaskTel Centre starting May 25 when Niagara River Lions come to town for the season opener. A visit to the defending CEBL champion Edmonton Stingers is set for May 29, before the Rattlers return to the Snake Pit to take on Fraser Valley on June 1 of a busy opening week. The second half of June features a five-game homestand that will include the first visits to Saskatoon by the league's three expansion teams from Scarborough, Montreal, and Newfoundland. The River Lions return to SaskTel Centre on July 1 for a special Canada Day game.

The schedule features three three-game road trips, including one to open July that begins and ends in Newfoundland, bookending a visit to Ottawa. The Rattlers will conclude the regular season with three games on the road at Scarborough, Guelph and Montreal.

"This year, we have a number of weekday games; a nice change to accommodate our local fans who often travel during the summer months," said Brad Kraft, Vice President, Saskatchewan Rattlers. "Fans can expect an elevated experience that showcases both the best players on the court, and the best entertainers from across Canada off the court."

General public and returning season ticket members can claim their seats for the entire Rattlers 2022 season by using Account Manager. Season tickets range from $242 in the Bronze section to $968 for courtside. All tickets can also be purchased through the Rattlers Front Office (306) 244-2181, Saskatchewan Rattlers website, or via Ticketmaster. Single game tickets will be available later this spring. For more seating options, suites, and group rates; fans can contact an account executive.

Demopoulos brings a distinguished resume to Saskatchewan that includes stints as an assistant coach in the NBA with Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles (Clippers), as well as with the Detroit Pistons NBA G League affiliate in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That was preceded by 17 years as assistant coach at Temple University under legendary Hall of Fame coach John Chaney. He gained international head coaching experience leading Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League.

Preparing for its fourth season starting May 25 the CEBL saw record success in 2021 as millions of viewers across Canada and around the world tuned in to games via CEBL+, CBC television, CBC Gem, and attended in-person in all home arenas for a limited number of games. The CEBL became the first professional sports league in Canada to return to play with fans in its venues in 2021.
