Growlers Basketball Schedule Announced

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and the Newfoundland Growlers are proud to announce the club's inaugural season schedule ahead of the 2022 CEBL season.

The Growlers schedule features a total of 20 games, including 10 games at home at the Memorial University Fieldhouse and 10 games on the road, spanning from June 3 to July 31, 2022.

The Growlers' inaugural season will see the club facing every team in the CEBL at least once. Beginning at home, the first game in team history will see the Growlers hosting the reigning CEBL champions, the Edmonton Stingers, at the Fieldhouse on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 7:30 pm. The club concludes its first-ever homestand with a battle against the Ottawa Blackjacks on Sunday, June 5.

The team's first road trip takes them to Southern Ontario for their first looks at the Scarborough Shooting Stars and the Niagara River Lions on June 7 and June 10 respectively.

The squad kicks off its longest road trip of the season, a five-game trek, on June 14. Returning to Ontario for matchups against the Guelph Nighthawks and Hamilton Honey Badgers on June 14 and 16, Newfoundland makes its maiden voyage out west to meet the Fraser Valley Bandits on June 26 before playing their way home with stops in Saskatoon to take on the Saskatchewan Rattlers on June 28 and in Edmonton against the Stingers to end the month on June 30.

The club returns for its longest homestand of the season, four games in July beginning with Saskatchewan and Fraser Valley on July 3 and 5, followed by a return of the Saskatchewan Rattlers on July 9 and a visit from Niagara on July 15.

The Growlers then set out on their final road trip of the regular season, stopping in Ottawa on July 19 before their first trip in Quebec against the Montreal Alliance on July 22 and 24.

Newfoundland will end its regular-season schedule at home with three final games against Montreal on July 27, Guelph on July 29, and ending with Scarborough on July 31.

Throughout its 10-game home schedule, the Growlers will play eight-weekend games, including three games on Fridays, one on Saturday, and four on Sundays.

All Growlers games will be available to stream live in Canada via cbcsports.ca, the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
