Jupiter Hammerheads News Release

In the battle of sharks, the Hammerheads beat the Threshers by a score of 9-5 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Thursday night. Jupiter has now won two of the first three games in the series over Clearwater.

Offensively the Hammerheads were powered by Angeudis Santos, who got the team going with a 2-RBI double in the third inning. The second basemen would drive in two more Hammerheads with a sharp single in the fifth. In that same frame, Jose Salas would drive in a pair. Following their four-run fifth inning, the Hammerheads led 6-0.

Jupiter would tack on three more runs in the seventh inning. Brady Allen drove in two after hitting his fifth double of the season. Right after, Osiris Johnson would drive in Allen with an RBI single. That would be the final run scored for the Hammerheads, who lead 9-1 going into the eighth inning.

However, Clearwater put up a fight. The Threshers scored in the final three frames, including three runs in the ninth inning to close the gap to 9-5.

While Santos stole the show finishing 3-4 with four RBIs; Salas, Zach Zubia, and Javeon Cody all had multi-hit nights. Allen also drove in his 24th and 25th runs of the season for the Hammerheads.

On the mound for the Hammerheads was Holt Jones. The 2021 14th round draftee made his 2022 debut and pitched six shutout innings to earn his professional win. The Kentucky alum allowed just two hits and struck out three batters to open his campaign.

Yeuris Jimenez, Jake Schrand, and Tyler Eckberg would close out the game for the Hammerheads. Each reliever pitched an inning following Jones. Jimenez and Schrand each allowed a run, while Eckberg let three Threshers cross the plate.

Game four of the six-game series will be played tomorrow evening at RDCS. Join us for our Dog Days and our School's Out Bash with postgame fireworks! The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
