
Santana smacks walk-off homer for Clinton

CLINTON, IA - For the first time since July 10, 2005, the Whitecaps lost at Alliant Energy Field when Cristian Santana hit the first pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning for a towering home run to give Clinton an 8-7 victory. The loss ended a nine game win streak for the Whitecaps in Clinton. West Michigan grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second inning off LumberKings starter Derek Holland.
However, Manny Miguelez gave up three walks in four hits in the bottom of the inning, which allowed Clinton to claim a 6-4 advantage.
The Whitecaps tied the game on a double in the sixth inning when Kyle Peter stole second while Kody Kaiser stole home.
Santo Mieses allowed the game winning home run.
Clinton has won five games in a row.
