
Santa Cruz Warriors Name David Kao as Chief Operating Officer

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors have named David Kao as the team's Chief Operating Officer, it was announced today. Kao will oversee the daily business operations of the Santa Cruz Warriors. Kao will report to Golden State Warriors Senior Vice President of Franchise Development and Santa Cruz Warriors President, Chris Murphy.
"David has a lengthy list of accomplishments at the professional and collegiate level that makes him suited for this newly formed role of Chief Operating Officer for the Santa Cruz Warriors," said Murphy. "I look forward to seeing David connect with our staff and surrounding community to further promote the Warriors in the Santa Cruz community, as well as leading the Santa Cruz Warriors as one of the top NBA G League franchises."
Prior to his arrival in Santa Cruz, Kao spent nine seasons at UC Berkeley, most recently serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Ticket Sales, Service and Operations. Kao spearheaded the department's annual ticket sales and marketing strategic plans for 11 ticketed sports. Under his leadership, the Cal Athletics ticketing team set revenue and attendance records for Cal Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Baseball and Softball.

Kao graduated from Drexel University with a Master of Science degree in Sport Management and received his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry.

"Santa Cruz is a tight knit community that supports each other and has many strong connections, and I am very confident that David will be additive to this community, and to the Santa Cruz Warriors place within it."
