Westchester Knicks News Release
TARRYTOWN, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, waived VJ King (returning rights) as announced by the team Monday morning.
The NBA G League's Temporary Additional Pandemic Roster Spot (TAPRS) ends today making teams required to waive a player to return to ten rostered players. This does not include Two-Way Players.
King, 6'6 210, appeared in nine regular season games and 14 Showcase Cup contests. During the Showcase Cup, King averaged 9.9 points on 47.7-percent, 5.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists. His career-highs stand at 20 points (vs. Long Island on 11/23/21), 13 rebounds (at Delaware on 12/12/21) and five assists (at Grand Rapids on 1/7/22).
King signed with the New York Knicks after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft and joined Westchester where he averaged 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in his rookie season. The Akron, OH native played three seasons at Louisville.
The Knicks will return home to face the Delaware Blue Coats tomorrow, February 1 at 7 PM ET.
