June 10, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release

NEW YORK - San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was voted the MLS Player of the Month presented by EA SPORTS™ by members of the media for the month of May of the 2019 MLS season. This is the seventh MLS Player of the Month honor in Wondolowski's career, the most ever in league history.

As part of every MLS Player of the Month award this season, EA SPORTS FIFA 19 will release a special FUT item to honor the winning player, this month recognizing Wondolowski for this tremendous May performance. Wondolowski can be unlocked via a special Squad Building Challenge now live in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team.

Wondolowski finished May with six goals scored in only 203 minutes played, breaking the MLS all-time goals record on May 18 with a four-goal performance. The California native has scored eight goals this season, tied for fourth-most in the league. San Jose is tied for seventh in the Western Conference with 19 points (5-6-4 overall record) and is undefeated in its last four matches.

San Jose defeated the Chicago Fire 4-1 at Avaya Stadium on May 18 behind Wondolowski's record-breaking four-goal performance. The contest was the first four-goal game in Wondolowski's career.

Wondolowski continued his torrid scoring stretch with a brace in San Jose's 2-1 victory at Toronto FC on May 26.

San Jose returns to MLS regular season action on Wednesday, June 26 when hosting the Houston Dynamo (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+).

MLS Player of the Month presented by EA SPORTS is voted upon by a panel of select national media members in a process conducted by MLS Communications.
