San Diego Strike Force Names Derek Dahlen Defensive Consultant

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Strike Force today announced that the team has named Derek Dahlen Defensive Consultant.
Dahlen brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Strike Force. He most recently was Director of Football Operations for the San Diego Stars and Stripes all-star high school football team's game against the Mexico National Team (2018), in addition to leading the team as Director of Football Operations/Special Teams Coordinator in 2016 and Head Coach in 2015.
The San Diego native has been a component of several local high school football coaching staffs, serving as a Defensive Coordinator for Hoover High School (2013-14, 2010-11) and Grossmont High School (2007), a Secondary Coach for Mater Dei Catholic High School (2008) and St. Augustine High School (2006), and a Secondary/Special Teams Coordinator for Castle Park High School (2000-05).
Dahlen also was a Defensive Consultant (2004) and Defensive Coordinator (2001-03) for the San Diego Riptide Arena Football League team. He has been a Defensive Consultant for Tecos Football in Tijuana, Mexico since 2003.
"We're excited to have Derek join our team and become a fixture within our coaching staff," said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. "His experience in the indoor game will be a huge benefit to our young players as we continue to develop and gel as a team. Beyond his contribution on the field, his knowledge and history within the San Diego market is a welcomed addition to our organization."
While playing college football for St. Mary's College in Moraga, California, Dahlen was named Defensive Back of the Year (1992) and Rookie of the Year (1991). He played rugby for Old Mission Beach Athletic Club from 1995-2009 and was named a 7's National Champion in 2006, 2002, 2001 and 2000, in addition to playing for the USA Men's National 7's team in 2000.
Dahlen is a board member of the Inter-California's Youth Athletic Association and an organizer/consultant for the Baja Bowl Festival in Tijuana, Mexico. He also owns Bully's East Prime Bistro Sports Bar located in San Diego.
