The Sockers come into this match 1-0 after beating the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas last Sunday by a 4-3 score in overtime.

Saturday night will mark the beginning of Nick Perera's head coaching career with the Tacoma Stars.
He took the reins Friday after Darren Sawatzky accepted the head coach position with FC Tucson of USL League One.
Aside from being the new head coach, Perera also leads the team in scoring with 10 points (4G-6A) this season. Philip Lund sets the Stars mark in goals with five after three games. Both Perera and Lund have notched hat tricks this season.
For San Diego, this is just their 2nd game of the sea- son after defeating Rio Grande Valley 4-3 at home last Sunday. Leonardo de Oliveira got the game-winner with 5:31 left in overtime.
Christian Gutierrez leads the team with two goals after picking up a pair in the 3rd quarter against the Barracudas. Kraig Chiles got the other goal for the Sockers in their opener.
For San Diego keeper Boris Pardo, his 2.78 GAA is An MASL third best.
Nick Perera - Head Coach Nick adds head coach to his other title of Forward for the Tacoma Stars this season. Aside from playing time with six professional indoor teams, Nick was on the 2011 US National Futsal Team. He was the NCAA College Cup Offensive MVP and National Champion in 2006. He has coached college and elite soccer since 2005 and holds a USSF "B" License. Nick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UC-Santa Barbara and Cruyff Institute Football Management Degree. In addition to English, Nick is also fluent in Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, as well as Portuguese.
Lance Larson - Assistant Coach As the Director of Team Operations, Lance works closely with the players and staff in the day-to-day operation of the team and is responsible for team logistics. Lance acts as a liaison with other MASL clubs and works with Stars Management to ensure all league operational requirements and regulations are met. Lance has worked with G.M./Head Coach Dar- ren Sawatzky for 17 years.
